A fascination with paper in all its aspects—its texture, color, and history—all speak to me and give me a voice to share their whispers with the viewer. With rice paper, construction paper, shopping bags, and magazine clippings, I create beautiful and thought-provoking works that are reminiscent of the traditional papel picado that adorns the fiestas of Mesoamerica. Art Business News recently asked me to offer insight into my creativity, style, and career.
My Mission is to Entertain, Inspire, and Engage Audiences
Not satisfied to work in one medium, cut paper, my creativity enables me to work in the performing arts. I have worked on stage and in film. Most notably, I am known for my one-man show:
I Am Joaquin / Yo Soy Joaquin

My dedicated team of talented actors, directors, producers, and support staff works tirelessly to bring audiences a diverse range of productions that cater to all tastes and interests. From classic plays to contemporary musicals, we curate a lineup that promises to leave you awe-inspired and wanting more.

Art is Relative
When civilizations fade, it’s often the art and architecture that remain, standing as timeless testaments to their legacy. To me, my art is like family—it is my legacy, a part of me that will live on long after I’m gone. Just as families endure across generations, art too survives its creators, preserving the emotions, experiences, joys, and fears of those who crafted it.
Art, like a close family member, offers solace in times of hardship and shares in the triumphs of our success. It provides comfort, much like the embrace of a loved one. Whether through a patron who takes a piece home, a commission I’m honored to create, or a feature in a magazine or broadcast, art allows me to momentarily escape the world and immerse myself in its own transformative experience.
Thank you for taking the time to engage with my work. It’s a true honor to know that my art hangs in homes and offices across the United States. To an artist, there is no greater joy than seeing one’s creations appreciated in such personal spaces. I am filled with gratitude and joy knowing that you’ve connected with my ‘family members’—my works, each carrying a piece of my heart. Have a wonderful day, and if my art resonates with you, I invite you to click the ‘pay now’ button. With peace and appreciation.
